- BETTER-WORK: Boats rigged with jack plates, but otherwise identical to yours, turn higher-pitch props and perform better. Bronze and Brass hardware eliminate binding. Adjusts easily by turning one steel bolt. The jack plate enables the boat to run in shallower water than normal engine mount. It also affords you better fuel economy, which is great.
